Top hanging pots
What once started as a traditional nursery has grown into a place full of greenery, inspiration and collaboration. Here you will find perennials, Mediterranean plants and colourful annuals, as well as projects that are just a little different. A good example is the Top hanging pots, created in collaboration with Richard Cox.
With the Top hanging pots, you bring colour to eye level. On a wall, fence, façade or balcony, they create a cheerful and lively accent. The growers carefully put together the flower combinations, giving each hanging pot its own look. Not a standard pot, but a blooming gift for yourself or someone else.
Sustainability
Sustainability also has a permanent place here. The flowers for the Top hanging pots are grown without gas, and the pots are made from recycled material. The nursery itself uses 73 solar panels and waters plants with smart drippers, so they get exactly what they need. This means that not only greenery grows in the greenhouse, but also care for the world around it.
Together
You see this way of thinking in more places. The nursery has its own app, works with local entrepreneurs, organises walks among the greenery and even creates a monthly gardening programme for O.R.6. Ruud also works with regional growers, keeping the range fresh, local and varied.
A special place is “Het paradijs van Omran”. In the third greenhouse, Omran, a Kurdish Syrian, grows vegetables in his own way. He uses leftover materials from the nursery and builds new things with them himself, even a chicken coop. This creates a place full of character, right in the middle of the greenery.
Nursery Knippenberg-Eijkenboom shows that horticulture can be lively, creative and surprising. You come here for plants, colour and ideas, but often go home with a story too.
